Proven Safe and Effective

Orchex agricultural spray oils are a proven, remarkably safe weapon in combating a broad range of insects, diseases and weeds. Orchex spray oils cover a wide range of applications and are recognized worldwide as reliable spray oil bases that optimally balance pesticidal strength with low phytotoxicity. Orchex spray oils are EPA registered and meet the requirements of national organic farming organizations. They pose little or no hazard to people, animals, beneficial insects or the environment. Wide Range of Applications

Insect Control
Used alone or as an inert or spray adjuvant, Orchex successfully controls numerous insect pests-- such as mites, scale, psylla, leafhoppers and white flies -- on deciduous fruit and citrus trees, nut trees, ornamentals and other valuable crops. Additionally, combined with mating disruption, Orchex 796 has been shown to provide excellent codling moth control.

Weed Control
Orchex enhances the effectiveness of chemical herbicides in the control of weeds in a wide variety of field and orchard crops, including bananas, citrus, cocoa, corn, cotton,deciduous trees, oil palms, peanuts, rice, rubber, sorghum, soybeans, and sugar beets.

Disease Control
Orchex has been proven effective in preventing certain fungal diseases in numerous crops, such as greasy spot on citrus and Sigatoka disease in bananas. Used alone as a fungistat, Orchex forms a protective barrier against fungal infections, without detriment to plant respiration. It is also an excellent fungicide carrier and penetration aid.

Enhances Pesticidal Activity

In inert or spray adjuvant applications, the unique combination of properties offered by Orchex spray oils multiplies the effectiveness of the active component. The low volatility, low surface tension, low water solubility and distinct paraffinic structure of Orchex combine to provide better penetration, more efficient surface wetting, extended residence time, and resistance to rain washoff. These enhancements substantially improve the cost/benefit ratio, which means significant savings to the grower.

Does Not Promote Resistant Insect Strains

Used Alone, Orchex is particularly effective against scale insects and mites, killing them in various stages of their life cycles by hypoxia, or suffocation. Insects cannot develop resistance to this method of pest control.

Exhaustive toxicology testing has shown the Orchex spray oils, used in accordance the end-use labels and state Extension Service recommendations, are inherently low in toxicity and present minimal risk to people, animals, crops and beneficial insects.
