Orchex® Specifications:

Dependable Quality

Orchex spray oils are manufactured under rigorous quality controls to meet the three most important criteria for agricultural spray oils:

  • Optimum molecular weight
  • High paraffinicity
  • High unsulfonated residue

Optimal Molecular Weight/High Pesticidal Strength + Low Phytotoxicity-
The pesticidal efficiency of an agricultural oil is related to its molecular weight, or carbon number. As shown in the chart, too high a molecular weight increases phytotoxicity, while too low a molecular weight both increase phytotoxicity and reduces pesticidal effectiveness. The carbon number distribution of Orchex spray oils is carefully controlled to provide an optimal balance of high pesticidal potency and minimal phytotoxicity.

High Paraffinicity/Enhanced Pest Control-
The high parafficinity of Orchex spray oils (approximately 70%) greatly enhances their pesticidal effectiveness. Paraffinic-tpye hydrocarbons are particularly effective in promoting wetting, spreading and penetration.

High Unsulfonated Residue/Low Phytotoxicity-
Phytotoxicity increases when unsulfonated residue in an agricultural oil drops below 90%. Orchex spray oils have a minimum unsulfonated residue content of 92%, further assuring low toxicity to crops.
